Ross Kemp in Afghanistan was a documentary produced in 2008 and followed former actor Ross Kemp as he joined a group of British soldiers fighting in Afghanistan. The documentary won rave reviews and went on to win a wealth of awards. Critics felt it really communicated the true environment the soldiers have to live in whilst fighting for their country out in Afghanistan.
Whilst on tour, Ross Kemp witnessed the death of some men he had come to be friends with and was not kept safe from the harsh reality of war fare. He was on the frontline and experienced every bit of it which has earned him the respect of both the general public and colleagues. A documentary of this kind has never been made before and is unlikely to ever be made again. Ross Kemp has since said he will never view life in the same way again.
