Made in 2008, this unique documentary looks at the understated world of homeless football. Narrated by Colin Farrell and directed by Jeff Werner and Susan Koch, this film follows seven individuals and their experiences at the Homeless World Cup. The individuals involved come from all over the globe and join together for the love of football. It received positive feedback after receiving its premiere at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival.
The film has been seen as a ‘filmanthropy’ in an effort to expose the experiences of homeless people to the wider audience and using the Homeless World Cup as a centre piece to make people more aware of the hardships these people go through on a daily basis and how even when you seemingly have nothing, you will always have something that is worth living for.
