Another top quality documentary from Ross Kemp which looks at the growing concern related to the renaissance of pirate culture. Once thought to be extinct, pirates are now finding more ways to hijack cargo ships and demand ransoms for hostages. The number of pirates are growing and the frequency of pirate attacks, particularly in the seas around Somalia, are a huge problem for ships and convoys that have a mandatory duty to transport goods through the waters that pirates roam.
Once again, Ross Kemp is right on the frontline as he sees the battle from both sides of the war. He follows the British navy around as they hunt pirate vessels and he also searches the whereabouts and roots of the pirate problem. This documentary brings home just how big a problem piracy has become and how it is showing no signs of deteriorating. If anything, the issue is getting worse.
